Commercial space, possibly for retail, office, restaurant and/or public assembly spaces, and authorizes the City’s participation through the allocation of TIF in an amount up to $216,638.00, which includes capitalized interest, to offset TIF eligible expenses including, but not limited to acquisition, architecture and engineering, site work, building rehabilitation hard construction costs, a 2.0 percent contribution of TIF revenues to the North Omaha Business Improvement District’s streetscaping fund, and public improvements as required, containing a provision for the division of ad valorem taxes as authorized by Section 18-2147 through 18-2150, Revised Statutes of Nebraska, as analyzed and determined to be in conformance with the Community Development Law and as recommended by the City Planning Department, be and hereby is approved. The building was being listed on the National Register of Historic. In 2018, the building was deemed an official landmark by the City of Omaha. The lack of our “expensive lobbyists” doing their job will cost the Omaha taxpayers approximately $3.5 million dollars.
